I hate public speaking.

This video is putting emphasis on the struggles that people face when they are required to speak in front of other people. It's based around the fact that people get very nervous, fearful, and quite sweaty when a stress is put in front of them. This video is trying to educate people about what they are feeling and show them that it is normal. A person could take just about whatever they wanted to away from this video; from the bad editing to the fake people, but if you take one thing away I would hope it to be that if fearing a public speech is the worst of your worries... you got it pretty good. I believe that, although public speaking may be hard, it is a useful tool that will only aid me in anything that I want to do, whether I want to be a neurosurgeon or a janitor I'll still need to speak.

The last thing about me...(sorry it's late)

This is the Quigong chart, upon which the basic principles of Tai'Qi are based. I have been practicing Tai'Qi for about three years and it has definitely helped my breathing (I have mild respiratory difficulties.) The whole basis of Tai'Qi is to control your breathing and inner energies (Qi.) These principles allow me to control anger, distress and make concentrated decisions. Practicing this martial art, for it is considered a "slow" martial art, is one of my favorite things to do in my spare time. I practice RyuKyu Kempo as well which is similiar to, yet faster than Tai'Qi. I would highly suggest these to anyone wishing to get exercise and gain knowledge of "self" defence.

And another post about me...

This is a Djembe, which are traditional hand percussion instruments, from the Numu tribe in west
Africa. The term "djembe" can be roughly translated into "everyone gather together in peace. " This instrument was played mostly at celebrations and has a quite uplifting sound. In tribal life, only certain people are authorized to play this instrument but sadly I have not had the spare time (or money) for a trip to Guinea Conakry to get permission from the Numu. I have been playing the Djembe for around 9 years now and get much enjoyment from it, I have even brought it to school on occasions and played for classes. Thes instruments have an amazing sound to them that just makes you want to dance, it's almost hypnotic. Picture from: djembedrumsforsale.com (This is the actual Djembe that I own.)

More things about me...

These are amber encased insects... I have an almost morbid fascination with amber and the things that it contains. For some reason these time capsules, from many years back, grab my attention and just won't let go. These specimens give us a glimpse into the distant past, from which we were born. I wear a scorpion amber around my neck everyday (you'll all get to hear the story behind it in my speech) and it rarely leaves my person due to its sentimental value. I have worn this necklace for around ten years (except for a brief, frantic period during which I lost it.) Picture from: upload.wikimedia.org

Things about me...

This is a survival kit... Although this isn't exactly what I carry, it is reasonably close. My whole lifestyle is based around being prepared at all times. Often, being prepared is more difficult than it appears, because there are just circumstances in which you cannot have what you need (or feel comfortable with) an example being school. I cannot bring the things that make me feel comfortable in every day life such as my knife and Ferrocerium rod. These things have been with me for so long that it has become almost painful to leave them behind when I come to school.
